Is Chipup really free?
Chipup's public site advertises a free app with no paid tiers listed as of August 2026. If cost is your only consideration, that is a genuine advantage and it would be silly to pretend otherwise.
Why does Poker Sesh charge hosts then?
Poker Sesh is a one-person project with no ads and no data resale, so the host subscription is what pays for servers and push notifications. Players never pay, so the cost lands on one person rather than the whole table.
Do I have to install Poker Sesh?
Not unless you want to. It runs in any phone or laptop browser, so a new player at your table can be logging buy-ins about ten seconds after you send them the invite code. There is also a free Poker Sesh app on the App Store for iPhone and iPad if you would rather have it on your home screen.
